Silver Walk:- ( 4 miles, level.) Start with coffee & cakes at The
Roost before leaving the village via Kintillo, you pass the imposing
gates of Kilgraston School. Follow the road to your left for ½
mile and you are sign-posted for the Silver Walk on your right. It is
so named for all the Silver Birches among which the easy and level path
takes you towards the ancient spa of Pitkeathly Wells, to which the people
traveled from far and wide to "take the waters". At the main
road from Bridge of Earn to Forgandenny, turn left for 200 yds and you
are sign-posted on your right for the second half of the walk, a right
of way which takes you through the grounds of Dunbarney Estate back towards
the village. As you come back over the railway bridge , The
Last Cast awaits you.
Vane
Farm:- ( 12 miles south on A ) A bird sanctuary on the southern shore
of Loch Leven . Vane Farm is run by The Royal Society for the Protection
of Birds. Though this is particularly child friendly, it is also fascinating
for adults. ( Price ).
